Home Based Business – Don’t Quit Now! Here’s Why Others Fail

Ever wonder why you hear about so many people starting businesses online? Starting a home based business is quite a venture for those wishing to supplement their existing income. It’s growing in popularity, and for many great reasons.

The startup costs are considerably lower than most businesses, so there are no loans to fuss over. This is a good thing, considering opening a neighborhood storefront can cost you as high as $20,000 for the roof alone. This doesn’t include stock, warehousing, labor, and utilities to name a few. Even still, there is no guarantee that you’ll earn your money back, and further than that, even IF your store is doing well, it may take years to pay off the capital loan. This is worth the trouble for some, but more people are turning to the alternative, the internet.

If the low startup cost isn’t attractive enough, how about the fact that your business can be performed in the comfort of your own home? You’ve probably heard many stories online about people working in their underwear making millions online. It seems far-fetched, but it’s not unheard of.

If you open a store in your neighborhood, you can just assume lock yourself into the city your store is located. While that’s OK for some, many prefer to be geographically unfettered. In short, with an internet business, you may decide that your home office isn’t good enough and head down to the corner cafe…in London! That’s right, anywhere there is an internet connection can be your office. This thought alone will make you wonder why everybody isn’t doing this. The answer may surprise you.

With so many significant differences in the business structure, one constant remains the same; the internet business favors the most persistent and disciplined among us. Too many people quit the internet business too soon without having really put their best foot forward. This is unfortunate for some, but it only leaves room for people like you and me to jump in and take the reigns.

The fact is that if you persist and toil through the early rough areas, you’ll find that the tough part really wasn’t as tough as you thought it would be. In fact, most businesspeople who see themselves through the hard part actually look back and insist it was so much easier than they thought it would be. Which is exactly why so many home based business pitches begin with ‘It’s so easy, a child can do it!’.

This brings us back to my earlier idea. People quit this business too quickly because they are under the impression they can make a quick buck, quick like a month! After 30 days, it grows sour and it disappoints them so they quit in disgust, saying that it doesn’t work, when in fact if they stayed on and stuck it out for another month, they would be making plenty of money with regular exponential growth.

It’s unfortunate for the many who can’t take the heat, but fortunate for people like you and me. If you exercise persistence, confidence, and discipline, then you too can be among the ranks of the successful people who work in their pajamas! In real numbers, expect to work it for a good 3 months before you decide to call it quits. Even then, consider what you may be doing wrong, and recoup your actionable plan.

This business does work. It will work for you. Most importantly, you must come to the table with those virtues mentioned before. If you do not, you cannot expect to make it far. But, if you know yourself and you know that you’re made of the right stuff, then prepare to be excited because this business is custom fit for you! The water’s warm, are you ready?
