How Do I Promote My Website? Help!

If you have a business – any business – then you probably have a website. In fact, if you don’t then you are losing out on endless sales to both new and existing customers. But assuming you DO have a website then you have probably asked the question – “How do I promote my website?” And today I’m going to give you a few methods that have worked for me. Here we go…
When I first got started with my business I didn’t have any existing customers. So, in my attempts to get customers and promote my website I used a few different methods, both paid and free. The first paid method I used to promote my website was Google’s Pay Per Click search engine marketing. With this method I was able to choose keywords that applied to my businesses’ niche and promote my website to millions of potential customers almost immediately. As I learned more I made adjustments to my ad and to my keyword list. But in the end it worked in helping me promote my website and I recommend you give it a try too.
Next, I used a few free methods to promote my website like article marketing and forum postings. I also created a blog that had my website’s name in the title as well as my website’s URL in every blog post. This helped me to get great organic traffic and helped me to promote my website without spending a dollar. All of these methods worked but all will take work. You have to dedicate to doing blog postings or writing articles regularly and you must wait at least a week or two before the search engines will take notice.
Finally, through the above efforts I started to attract customers which gave me new opportunities to promote my website. With my existing customer base (i.e. email list) I was able to send regular email communication that had the purpose of helping me educate my customer base, establish myself as an expert and also promote my website. I took the opportunity to use my existing customers as referrals for new customers which further helped to promote my website to the masses. By leveraging existing purchasers of my product I created a snowball effect of hungry buyers with credit card in hand!
In conclusion, I was able to promote my website in multiple ways. At first I had little funds and no customers so I relied on limited pay per click and massive free methods to get the word out. After obtaining a few sales and a customer base I continued to use my original methods while adding on the power of a happy buyer. And, their referrals did wonders to help me promote my website to the world.
I recommend that you focus on one new technique per day and be consistent in your actions. If you stick to it then you will never ask the question “How Do I Promote My Website?” again. Good luck!
